The CrackUp Sisters are coming to the Coober Pedy Opal Festival 7th April 2012…

Posted under News by admin on Sunday 25 March 2012 at 7:13 am

The CrackUp Sisters are coming to The Coober Pedy Opal Festival – get excited …cause they sure are.

These two rascally far western Queensland characters S.T Ruth ( better known as Struth) and little sister B-Ute will have you in stitches as they strut, crack and tumble their way through incredibly physical shows. They smash together slapstick acrobatic comedy, stunts, dance, jokes, liberty horse-sheila-ship and some world class stock whipcracking in ways you’ve never seen before.

The sisters have a burning passion for the Australian Stockwhip and will love to share ways the audience can integrate stock whips into everyday life. Their other passions to share will be eating meat pies, becoming female bull riders and professional windmill construction – yep these two are masters of the ridiculous.

The CrackUp Sisters have performed their very unique, Australian bush humour across the country from Freemantle Street Festival in WA, to Winton Outback Festival from The Perth Royal to Brisbane Royal. They’ve hosted the John Williamson Great Australian Muster, been a hit at a 50th birthday party and featured at The Calgary Stampede in Canada.

They are classic Aussie chicks with a whole lot’a grit and wit, you won’t believe their antics but you’ll love watching them get away with it!

The Opal Festival celebrates all these features and is the biggest local event of the year.

This years festival is set to once again bring the colour and festival atmosphere to Coober Pedy. The weekend will kick off with the Opal Festival Ball at the Desert Cave with the Flaming Sambuccas. Saturdays attractions will include a street parade, Volleyball competition, sumo suits, kids fun tent, pony rides and whip cracking comedy with The Crackup Sisters , . Xtreme Trials motorbike trials show returns, tower of terror, fireworks, music by the Flaming Sambuccas, food and drinks and Arts and Crafts.
